TAKE ACTION on The Global HER Project

The Global Gag Rule (aka The Mexico City Policy) was created in 1984 and was reinstated in 2017 by the current administration. It blocks U.S. global health funding to any foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that provide information, counseling or referrals for abortion services. This policy, which the Trump-Pence administration is calling, “Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy,” was massively expanded to apply to U.S. funding for ALL health services, including HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health programs, cancer screenings, Zika, Malaria, Tuberculosis and more. We can help end this policy, permanently, by calling Congress at 202-225-3121 and asking our representatives to support the Global HER Act (Health, Empowerment and Rights Act) today! We can also focus on voting people into office who want to end, not expand, the gag rules.
